This intervention represents a concrete response to a condition of decay and social marginalization, focusing on enhancing the urban fabric and encouraging the return of small and medium-sized artisan businesses.
A central role in the project is played by the study of the paving, designed to recall the style and architecture of the Florentine Renaissance.
The pattern draws inspiration from the projection of the vault of the Pazzi Chapel, reinterpreted along the urban path and focused on the key points of the street. In these focal points, motifs inspired by Florentine Renaissance paintings are integrated, all framed by pietra serena, the historic Florentine stone.
At the core of the project is the transformation of the street into an accessible, inclusive, and livable space: Via Palazzuolo will be completely redesigned, eliminating the level difference between the carriageway and the sidewalk to create a continuous surface that prioritizes pedestrians.
The reduction of parking spaces and the slowing of vehicular traffic will help restore visibility to shop windows, encouraging a renewed commercial and artisanal vibrancy.
